Leblanc's innovative approach earned him international recognition, with his works featured in major exhibitions and collections worldwide.

Working extensively in Kinetic and Optical art, Walter Le Blanc is celebrated for his work with the Torsion technique – on both canvas and sculpture, the artist would tighten and twist such materials as painted cotton threads and plastic ribbons over a traditional support to create simple geometric shapes and ray-like patterns that produced the illusion of movement. Twisted Strings is just one among many examples of the aforementioned technique – this particular piece was comprised of string, black latex paint and canvas and was a study of the interplay between light and surface. Leblanc worked and exhibited with the ZERO group and in the latter part of his career began to created sculptural 3D archetypes by nesting primary geometric shapes of circles, quadrangles and triangles.
