House, 1995

Rachel Whiteread (b. 1963, UK) is a British sculptor known for her pioneering work in sculpture that explores the negative space of everyday objects and architectural forms. As a leading figure in the Young British Artists (YBAs) movement, Whiteread gained international acclaim for her innovative technique of casting the interiors of objects and spaces, effectively capturing the voids that surround us.
