Original Silkscreen in colors on Fabriano wove paper - Suite: Columbus In Search of a New Tomorrow - IN excellent condition - Hand Signed in Pencil // Untitled (Columbus In Search of a New Tomorrow) by Kenny Scharf, a limited edition silkscreen print from 1992, measures 30 x 22.75 inches. The vibrant composition features Scharf’s distinctive style, merging pop culture with surrealistic elements. Against a backdrop of black and white newspaper clippings, colorful, whimsical organic forms stretch upward—like alien plants intertwined with fantastical creatures. A butterfly hovers above, and the overall energy of the piece conveys both a sense of optimism and chaos. Scharf's use of bright colors and cartoonish imagery creates a dynamic contrast with the serious, text-laden background, inviting viewers to reflect on the collision between nature and media, and the search for a new, hopeful future.

What is East Village Art?
In 1981, Patti Astor opened the first art gallery in New York City's East Village, helping to launch the careers of various artists and musicians. The gallery started small but quickly gained popularity, contributing to the emergence of art movements such as Neo-Expressionism and Street Art in the area. The East Village became a hub for these new artistic expressions. However, the gallery closed in 1985 due to waning interest.
