Sin Título 1

Jordi Alcaraz Sin Título 2 mixed media with black linear forms on layered acrylic sheets in wooden frame with textured background

Sin Título 2 by Jordi Alcaraz, created in 2025, continues the artist’s exploration of transparency, gesture, and spatial ambiguity. Executed in mixed media within a wooden frame, the work layers sheets of acrylic marked with loose, black linear forms over a pale, textured background. These fluid lines, suspended in space, blur the boundary between drawing and sculpture. The interaction of light and shadow transforms the composition depending on the viewer’s angle, adding a dynamic, time-based quality. Like much of Alcaraz’s practice, the piece reflects on the act of seeing and the material fragility of the image.

What is Arte Povera?

A movement and style in art that originated in Italy during the 1960s. It integrates elements of minimalism, performance art, and conceptual art by using everyday or seemingly worthless materials, such as newspapers, stones, or rags. The goal was to challenge and subvert the commercialization of art.
