From a run of 45 unique variants. // Untitled (Fall) by Harold Ancart is a limited edition silkscreen print from 2016, part of a series of 45 unique variants. The composition is striking, featuring bold contrasts of red, black, and hints of green. The upper half of the artwork is dominated by abstract, cloud-like black shapes against a fiery red sky, evoking a dramatic, almost otherworldly landscape at dusk or dawn. A lone white triangle punctuates the lower black section, creating a sense of isolation and minimalism. Ancart's use of color and negative space creates a visually compelling scene that invites viewers to ponder its mysterious, open-ended narrative.

What is minimalism?
Minimalism is a style in music and visual arts characterized by pared-down designs and simplicity. It began in Western art after World War II, gaining prominence particularly in American visual arts. Minimalism draws heavily on aspects of modernism and is often viewed as a reaction against Abstract Expressionism, as well as a precursor to post-minimal art practices. Prominent minimalist artists include Agnes Martin, Donald Judd, Robert Morris, Frank Stella, and Dan Flavin.
