Wat is Performance kunst?

Performancekunst is een genre binnen de beeldende kunst dat traditioneel interdisciplinair is en verschillende kunstvormen combineert. Het kan gescript of ongescript zijn, willekeurig of zorgvuldig georkestreerd, spontaan of nauwgezet gepland, met of zonder deelname van het publiek. Performancekunst kan live of via media worden gepresenteerd, met de kunstenaar aanwezig of afwezig. Het omvat meestal vier basis elementen: ruimte, het lichaam van de performer of zijn aanwezigheid via een medium, tijd en de relatie tussen performer en publiek. Het kunstwerk bestaat uit acties die door een individu of groep op een bepaald moment en plaats worden uitgevoerd.
