In 2015 she did a solo show in her gallery titled The Strange Life of Things. She was part of group shows in Miami in 2014 and in New York in 2015. One of her 2011 works is titled Transformation and a 2015 work is titled Stars Will Continue. AMVK studied at the Fine Arts Academy in Antwerp and is prolific in drawing and works on both paper and synthetic materials. Annie-Mie Van Kerckhoven also creates short videos. At the Academy she majored in graphic design and her works carry a strong feminine theme tied in with machine/technology often set in domestic interiors. Her preferred mediums are paper, paint, drawing, video and
computer arts. AMVK combines various styles to create her art. Her works have combined digitally manipulated visuals, collage, nudism, text, popular culture, feminism, and the obscure to name just a few. In 2003 Annie-Mie Van Kerckhoven received the Flanders’ Prize for her work in Visual Arts. In 2006 she received a DAAD Stipendium to spend a year in Berlin. (
