// Fósforo by Jorge Macchi is a limited edition lithograph from 2010, created in an edition of 50 plus artist’s proofs (BAT). The artwork features a single, oversized matchstick with a slightly burned tip, rendered in a minimalist, realistic style against a plain white background. The match is adorned with a small green label at its midpoint, adding a touch of color to the otherwise subdued palette. This simple yet evocative image draws attention to the delicate balance between potential and action, as the match appears both unused and on the verge of ignition. Macchi’s focus on everyday objects imbues them with a sense of contemplation, inviting viewers to consider themes of fragility, impermanence, and latent energy within mundane items.

What is Sound Art?
Sound Art is an artistic discipline where sound is used as the primary medium. Like other contemporary art genres, Sound Art is inherently interdisciplinary, engaging with a variety of subjects including electronics, acoustics, noise music, psychoacoustics, audio media, video, film, and sculpture. Early examples of Sound Art include Luigi Russolo's noise intoners, as well as experimental works by Surrealists, Dadaists, and the Fluxus movement. These early pioneers helped establish sound as a legitimate medium for artistic expression.
