Cabelo
Original Signed Artworks & Limited Edition Prints For Sale
He was born in 1967 and his work shows the influence of the conceptual art movement of the 1960s and 1970s. He embraces multiple artistic outlets, all focused on an abstract, metaphysical embodiment of Brazil as an idea, seen from the inside.
In his own words, "To begin with, I don’t belong to myself. I’m a horse of the world. Poetry’s vehicle." His chosen moniker, Cabelo, derives from the Portuguese word for "horse". In some afro-Brazilian rituals, the "horse" is the medium for a spirit.
