Wat is Lyrical Abstractie?
Lyrische abstractie is een beschrijvende term die een soort abstract schilderen karakteriseert dat nauw verwant is aan het abstract expressionisme en in gebruik is vanaf de jaren 1940 tot op heden. De term kan ook verwijzen naar twee verschillende maar verwante stromingen in de modernistische schilderkunst na de Tweede Wereldoorlog. Deze kunstbeweging ontstond na de oorlog in Parijs, Frankrijk, en legt de nadruk op persoonlijke expressie, spontaniteit en het emotionele gebruik van kleur en vorm.
