Wat is geometrisch abstracte kunst?

Geometrische abstractie is een vorm van abstracte kunst die gebruik maakt van geometrische vormen die in een niet-illusionistische ruimte zijn geplaatst (hoewel niet altijd) en gecombineerd zijn tot niet-representatieve (niet-objectieve) composities. Op basis van jarenlang artistiek onderzoek hebben sommige kunstenaars voorgesteld dat geometrische abstractie een oplossing biedt voor moderne uitdagingen door traditionele illusionistische praktijken af te wijzen ten gunste van helderheid en eenvoud.
