Le papier mâché est un matériau composite composé de morceaux de papier ou de pâte, renforcé avec des textiles et lié avec des adhésifs comme l'amidon, la colle à papier peint ou la colle ordinaire. Il existe deux méthodes principales pour fabriquer du papier mâché : l'une consiste à superposer des bandes de papier imbibées d'adhésif, tandis que l'autre utilise une pâte obtenue en faisant bouillir ou en trempant du papier, puis en ajoutant de la colle. Bien que chaque méthode ait un processus différent, les résultats sont similaires.
