Graphein I, Gedächtnis des Tons (2002) de Günther Uecker inaugure la série Graphein, une méditation sur l’écriture, la mémoire et la matière, réalisée en gaufrage sur papier fait main Eskulan. L’œuvre présente un champ régulier de points en relief, interrompu sur la droite par une courbe fluide qui suggère une vibration ou une onde sonore. Le titre, Mémoire de l’argile, évoque les tablettes antiques et la trace du temps sur la matière. Uecker remplace l’encre par la lumière et le toucher, rendant la perception sensorielle essentielle. Éditée à 120 exemplaires, plus des épreuves d’artiste, elle a été copubliée par Dorothea van der Koelen (Mainz) et Édouard Weiss (Paris).

Qu'est-ce que le Mouvement Zero?

ZERO était un mouvement artistique fondé par Otto Piene et Heinz Mack, visant à se développer en un grand mouvement international et transfrontalier. Le nom ZERO provient d'une revue fondée par Heinz Mack en 1957, qui est devenue une plateforme pour les idées du groupe. La revue a été publiée pendant plusieurs années avant de cesser en 1967. Le mouvement ZERO cherchait à créer un nouveau départ dans l'art, en mettant l'accent sur la lumière, l'espace et le mouvement, et est devenu influent dans l'art européen d'après-guerre.
