Wat is Figuration Libre?

Figuration Libre is een kunstbeweging die gelijkstaat aan de Franse Bad Painting en het Neo-expressionisme in Europa en Amerika. De term werd bedacht door Ben Vautier en de Fluxus-beweging. In 1981 vormden Robert Combas, François Boisrond, Hervé Di Rosa en Rémi Blanchard de Figuration Libre-groep. De term kan worden geïnterpreteerd als vrije stijl kunst, waarbij spontaniteit, vrijheid en een afwijzing van traditionele artistieke conventies centraal staan.

Een potlood is een schrijf- en tekengereedschap met een kern van vast pigment, meestal grafiet of kleur, omhuld door een beschermende laag hout of composietmateriaal. Potloden maken markeringen op papier door een deel van het pigment van de kern op het oppervlak over te brengen.

Computerprinten houdt in dat computertechnologie wordt gebruikt om beeldende kunstafbeeldingen als prints te reproduceren. In de basisvorm betekent dit het creëren van digitale versies van kunstwerken die vervolgens op papier worden afgedrukt. Geavanceerdere technieken stellen kunstenaars in staat om computers te programmeren om originele kunst te maken, die vervolgens wordt afgedrukt met behulp van verschillende druktechnologieën.

De Düsseldorfer Fotoschule verwijst naar een groep fotografen die in de jaren 1970 studeerden onder Bernd en Hilla Becher aan de Kunstakademie Düsseldorf. Deze groep stond bekend om hun toewijding aan zwart-wit industriële beelden, kenmerkend voor de Duitse traditie die bekend staat als Nieuwe Zakelijkheid. De fotografen richtten zich op nauwkeurige, methodische documentatie van industriële structuren, vaak met een afstandelijke en objectieve benadering.
