Robert Motherwell
Robert Motherwell (États-Unis, 1915–1991) était une figure majeure de l’Expressionnisme abstrait, reconnu pour son audacieux usage du noir et blanc et sa série 'Elegy to the Spanish Republic.' Alliant abstraction gestuelle et profondeur intellectuelle, son œuvre explorait des thèmes comme l’histoire, la philosophie et la poésie. Motherwell a contribué à définir l’art américain d’après-guerre.
