David Batchelor

David Batchelor (Schotland, 1955) is een Schotse kunstenaar en schrijver, bekend om zijn levendige verkenningen van kleur in stedelijke omgevingen. Zijn werk omvat sculpturen, installaties en fotografie, waarbij hij vaak gevonden objecten gebruikt om dynamische composities te creëren. Batchelor's opmerkelijke publicaties omvatten 'Chromophobia' (2000), waarin hij de afkeer van kleur in de westerse cultuur onderzoekt.

Wat is Found Object?

Een gevonden voorwerp is een term die wordt gebruikt om een door de mens gemaakt of natuurlijk object, of een fragment daarvan, te beschrijven dat een kunstenaar ontdekt of koopt en bewaart ter inspiratie of als kunstwerk. De kunstenaar kan het voorwerp ook aanpassen of het gebruiken in een collage of assemblage, waardoor het wordt omgevormd tot een nieuw kunstwerk.
