Original screenprint in colors on Rives - Hand-signed, dated and numbered in pencil - With the blind stamp of the printer and the artist's ink stamp on verso - Corlett 277 // Roy Lichtenstein’s The Oval Office, created in 1992, is a vibrant and iconic screenprint that captures the famous room in a bold, pop art style. The image depicts the Oval Office, reimagined with Lichtenstein’s signature use of thick black outlines and flat, bright colors. The composition includes the familiar elements of the room: the desk at the center, flanked by two yellow armchairs, the American flag, and other official symbols. The use of primary colors—yellow, blue, and red—simplifies the space, reducing it to geometric forms while maintaining the recognizable layout. This print reflects Lichtenstein's ability to take well-known images and transform them into visually engaging works through his unique pop art lens. Signed, dated, and numbered, The Oval Office was produced in a limited edition of 175, with 25 artist's proofs, and bears both the printer’s blind stamp and the artist's ink stamp on the verso.

What is site specific art?
Site-Specific Art is a form of artwork created to exist in a particular location, with the artist considering the site as an integral part of the creative process. Robert Irwin was a key figure in promoting this art form in California. Site-Specific Art emerged as a reaction against modernist objects, which were often portable, commodified, and confined to museum spaces. In contrast, Site-Specific Art is inherently tied to its location, challenging the traditional notions of art as a transportable and marketable commodity.
